TTU Custom Solutions

Norcon has a long history of custom solutions. We have a series of standard options in the TTU-1, TTU-3, and TTU-7 like bullet resistance, wireless, push to talk, noise cancelling, recording, and ADA compliance. However, we have built custom solutions for customers with unique needs. Here are two examples that we’ve made available to other customers.

Back Office Solution

A customer came to us with the following problem. They love the TTU-3 and wanted to install it in at their front counter. During the day, this worked well. They were able to have a person at the front window. However, they were a small business and wanted to be able to communicate to customers at the window at off hours, when no one was manning the window.

We created a system that provides an additional back office unit that can be used when there is no attendant at the front counter. It comes with two units. We provide the standard TTU-3 unit for normal hours, and an additional back office wireless unit when the front counter is not attended. Only one inside unit can be used at a time.

After working with the first customer to meet their needs, we found other customers wanted it too. We were able to package it for others as the TTU-302-WX.

Social Security Administration Solution

Government agencies like the Social Security Administration and US Embassies needed a unique solution to meet their needs. They have people coming into their offices speaking many different languages, often different from the operator. They also had certain times that customers needed additional privacy. Finally, like many government offices, they needed to make announcements to the group of people in the waiting room.

We created the TTU-3SSA-JSD-X to meet their needs. This unit includes:

Telephone Handset. Customers have the option of an armored handset and cable if they need additional privacy to communicate confidentially.
Translator Support. These units have a dedicated port to allow translators to provide services.
Paging Support. A paging button is including to allow employees to make pages directly from the TTU-3.
